Cheick Hamala Diabate, a griot (traditional storyteller) from Mali, performed stories and songs and spoke about the griot tradition to 11th grade CAP students on Dec. 13 in the SAC. Here he is holding a Nagoni, a traditional Mali instrument from which the American Banjo can be traced.
