Automobile accident occurs outside Blair

by Jeremy Hoffman, Page Editor
An automobile accident occurred at approximately 7:20 Friday morning at the intersection of University Blvd and Williamsburg Drive, just outside the fire station. No one was seriously injured.

A car with three senior girls was hit by an oncoming car while making a left turn off University into the Blair parking lot. The girls' car was knocked into the fire station's parking lot.

The girls' car was wrecked. Firefighters had to cut off the right side of the car before the girls could exit the car.

Both passengers had sore necks, and rescue workers took them by ambulance to Holy Cross Hospital with precautionary neck braces and back boards. The driver was unharmed, but went to the hospital later under the suggestion of her doctor.

The girls left the hospital after a few hours and went home.

The other car, driven by an adult male, was mostly undamaged.

Blair staff member Carole Working called the girls' parents. A Blair security guard talked to the male driver.

Police blocked off the far right lane of University Blvd and questioned both drivers. As of 8:00 p.m. Friday, the official police report had not been filed.
