Three Blair students will perform in the Kennedy Center's Youth Orchestra Day on Thursday at 6 p.m. with members of the National Symphony Orchestra.

Juniors Greg Jukes, Adedeji Ogunfolu, and Joanna Skeath will participate in the event along with 62 other talented young musicians.

Jukes, who's been playing percussion for 11 years, said he enjoys the experience. "I love it," he said. "It's a challenging group, but it's a lot of fun."

Ogunfolu plays the French horn, and Skeath plays the violin.

Youth Orchestra Day will take part in the Grand Foyer on the Millennium Stage. This event is a part of the Kennedy Center's Performing Arts for Everyone initiative, which was launched by James Johnson, the chairman, to increase attendance by residents in the area and to introduce the Kennedy Center to a broader audience. The program offers one free performance to the public each day.
