President George W. Bush

by Ely Portillo, Page Editor
President George W. Bush's strong leadership and resolve have carried the American people through some of their darkest days. He is the obvious choice to lead the US for the next four years as well. None of the other candidates have anything close to his record of success or political experience.

Since his term began, President Bush has met and overcome unprecedented challenges. America experienced the largest terror attacks ever seen on our soil during the first year of the Bush administration. The President responded with firm resolve, building international support and two sweeping military campaigns to root out terrorists in their homelands. Thanks to him, Iraq and Afghanistan have been liberated and are becoming democracies, Saddam Hussein is in US custody, and Al Qaeda is on the run. Increased homeland security spending and a focus on protecting our county's borders, buildings, power plants, ports, and other infrastructure has helped insure that the US is safer and better prepared to protect its citizens.

On the home-front, President Bush's historic tax cuts and Job Growth Act of 2003 are succeeding in reversing the economic crisis that occurred after September 11. The economy is once again experiencing growth and revitalization, evidenced facts such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising above 10,000 points again in recent weeks. The President's proposal to finally begin an orderly guest worker program allowing undocumented immigrants to work legally in America will also boost the economy and begin to resolve the seemingly intractable problem of the huge Mexican border.

President Bush has also pushed and instituted sweeping reforms for education and healthcare in America. His No Child Left Behind Act ensures the accountability, increased funding and highest possible standards of American schools. Federal spending for education has already increased by nearly 60% from 2000 to 2003. Bush's monumental Medicare Bill assures that all Americans will have access to the highest quality, most affordable healthcare possible. Senior citizens will obtain cheaper medications, and everyone will have better, more affordable choices in their healthcare.

From his time in the Air National Guard, to his various business ventures, to his position as Governor of Texas and now the White House, President George W. Bush has consistently demonstrated leadership, a strong work ethic and personal integrity. He has proved that he can lead America through dangerous times, and Americans should make him President for another four years.

I though this was a profile of Bush, not propoganda to sway our votes. If the profiles of the other candidates are objective, then Bush's should be unbiased as well.

NO. Cheney makes the presidency the sexy organization that it is.

Bush is the brains, Cheney is the body.

Best not raise the issue of Bush in the Air National Guard. He may have dodged the Vietnam bullet, but too many liberals are keen on pointing out his absence from base while campaigning for Winton Blount, and his commander Gen. William Turnipseed confirms this absence. Lets tout accomplishments that we can be proud of, not provide fodder for public uncertainty.

I agree with you. For me and many other not propagand blinded President Bush is the right man for the right place. US needs him as the whole world needs his decision and wisdom to make a better place to live.

    Best Regards
