Juniors and sophomores switch places in pep rally
Juniors and sophomores switched their usual positions for Friday's pep rally.
Traditionally, the freshmen and sophomores sit on one side of the gym during a pep rally and the upper classmen sit on the other side. The juniors and sophomores were switched to try to increase order in the gym by reducing crowding.
Because the freshman and sophomore classes are so much larger than the juniors and seniors, the switch was intended to distribute students more evenly. "It's simple crowd control," said SGA member Brandon Hayes.
Many juniors considered the switch unfair. The performers in the middle of the gym usually face the seniors, so now sophomores will have a better view than juniors. Some of the performers split into two groups, one facing each side, to diminish the problem.
According to Hayes, administrators handed down the decision to the SGA. "It definitely is unfair," he said. "But that's how Mr. Gainous wants it."

If you have nothing better to say than "'08 RUlES WE da MAD BEAST!!!" or similar chest-thumping, then your comment may not be posted.
I would like to point out to you that no matter how many times you say "04ever" or "05 rule" (which, by the way is NOT a sentence), we are leaving high school at least a year before you. And we can drive. And see R rated movies. So wait till you're out of the wide world of Disney before telling us to grow up.
However, I would like to commend the performers this year for making an attempt to face both sides of the gym so that everyone could enjoy the pep rally.
(1) Those Wallops Island people (I'm one of them) were lucky. They got to miss it!
(2) It's a big waste of time.
(3) The real unfair thing is that its always the sixth or seventh period class that is interrupted.
(4) It's loud and damaging to people's ears because speakers are turned up too high.
(5) It's loud and damaging to people's ears because people yell too loud.
(6) Far from peaceful, this event encourages violence and war between the groups of people called Class of 2005, Class of 2004, Class of 2003, and Class of 2002.
(7) In fact, the segregation between the above four groups is grounds for complaint.
(8) I don't know how this thing got to be called a "rally". It is damaging to school spirit. People have to miss class to attend, and the large amount of noise makes it harder to listen to teachers in class. It encourages people to hate each other. Something is wrong here, n'est-ce pas?
In order to be fair, I'll insult all the students at once. Because of this, you might have grounds to accuse me of favoring older people. (However, you should have already realized I am discriminating against Blair pep rallies.) Notice the position of that apostrophe...
THE CLASSES OF 20' ARE A RUDE BUNCH OF VIOLATE IDIOTS!
Then do any of you understand the concept of Senority. Odds are you don't, which is okay becase now is the time for you to learn. You see the universe dose not revolve around you. That is very important rember that. Now when you are the new person, Freshman in high school or colage, or intern in your new job, you don't get all the privilages of those who have been thier for many years. So many of you what the most newest people to get privilage and then it to go away as you move up. It dosen't work that way rember that.
Oh and one idea for all you who say, "stop wineing, life is not fair live with it" I would like to suggest that during the next peprally we place all you people on the "butt side" and then I suggest that they close the divider for the gym. After all life is not fair. And when you complain we can say the exact same thing "it's just one pep rally get over it, stop whineing and acting like babies"
02 baby!
Me being "the breakdancing girl," I came out during the 2nd pep rally, sorry you missed it. But I was repping the CoEd Vball (10-1 baby!) team both rallies. Divas were awesome :)
Aight I'm out, no more rallies for me b/c I am graduating. Have fun dealing w/ your class rivalries and pep rally trifles while I'm gone.

Holla to the class of '04.
The rallies are kinda whack, but its better than being in class getting a lecture about dividing factors or types of bonds. Rather be out battling the seniors in breakin!
We'll have fun dealin with our rivalries! while your off in umcp chirisi! But its all about CHarminade UNiversity of HOnolulu! now thats far from home! Even get to be on an island! blahaha im thinkin too far ahead...must think of plans for the breakdance club in the next pep rally...
yeah were going to be a senior next year. pep rallys suck by the way. its not exciting at all i know im complaining and i know the reason. but oh well dont care.
Breakdancing can be boring for some people to watch, no offense taken. But next time, learn how to spell anonymous. Sheesh..juniors... what are we leaving the school to... psych, kidding kidding.peas...
Who ever is responcible should make it up.
