Newsbrief: Gainous wins ESOL award
Principal Phillip Gainous recently won the 2001-2002 MCPS ESOL/Bilingual Advisory Committee's (EBAC) Principal of the Year award.
The award was created by the EBAC in 1996 to honor a "principal who has demonstrated outstanding support to the ESOL/bilingual program."
School staff nominate candidates and parents and students give the EBAC comments about individual candidates.
Emily van Loon, a member of the Blair PTSA Staff Recognition Committee, said, "We are proud of Mr. Gainous and his commitment to the ESOL students at Blair."
