The 2009 winter sports award night was held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Blair auditorium. Coaches and event coordinators presented awards to athletes in recognition of their athleticism, sportsmanship and academic performance.

Athletic Director Dale Miller began the ceremony with a speech praising coaches, athletes and parents for their dedication to making the winter sports season a success. Mary Pelz of the Athletic Boosters took the stage next to thank parent volunteers for their contributions to the winter sports teams. After these opening remarks, Principal Darryl Williams distributed patches to the 23 Scholar Athletes with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). Event coordinators also handed out certificates honoring the 112 athletes who maintained a GPA of 3.25 or above during the season.

Coaches from the 10 winter sports teams delivered short speeches recounting their team's accomplishments and recognized certain individuals for their contributions. Athletes received awards for Most Improved (MI), Coaches' Award (CA), Outstanding Senior (OS) and Most Valuable Player (MVP).
