SilverChic is ShiverChic

by Jenna Bushnell, Online Features and Humor Editor
It's winter time and even though the wind chill is in the teens, Blazers still manage to heat up the Boulevard with their stylish outfits. When it comes to looking winter-chic, there is no such thing as snow days. We at Silver Chips Online strive to stay up on the latest trends so you can stay in the know while you're in the snow. We've picked out some of the latest trends that are sure to melt the ice on your driveway.

Head
In While winter hats may be a staple for the cold months, this season ear muffs are making a comeback. Worn with hair up or down, this trendy pick is cute and functional, and can keep your hair back during epic snowball fights.

Out Baseball hats may be great for combating summer's sun, but in the winter they're nothing but a liability. Ditch those hats for something that will keep your head extra toasty. Still want to rep your team? Check your favorite squad's website for warm beanies and stocking caps that are perfect for chillin' in the cold.

Shoulders
In Just because it's winter doesn't mean your pretty summer dresses have to be exiled to your attic. Simply pair them with a cardigan and tights and you've got yourself a wonderful winter wardrobe.

Out While shirts with bedazzled tattoo designs may work for the cast members of MTV's hit show, "Jersey Shore," Blair Boulevard is no beach house in the Garden State. Ditch those trashy tees and try a more sophisticated look to impress.

Knees
In Two words: snow pants. Yes, that's right. No longer are these trousers just for outdoor fun - they've been spotted all over Blair's campus. These comfortable alternatives to sweatpants will keep you warm and dry, all while making you look like you just stepped off of the slopes.

Out Bye bye baggy jeans, hello fitted ones. Pants with a snug waist are taking over the trouser trend. Blazers of all grades have traded in their below-the-bottom belt loops for a tidier, slimmer look.

Toes
In Booties are back with a bang! The boots of our yester years are making a comeback in the form of ankle boots. Perfect with jeans or a skirt, these versatile shoes can we worn with thick socks to keep out the cold as we wait for spring to arrive.

Out Flats are a flat-out no in this cold weather. Stick with shoes that can provide insulation, or at least the opportunity to wear socks in order to keep all of those little piggies away from frostbite.

i dont understand how guys wear fitted jeans. they might be "in style" but their uncomfortable, girly, and weird. guys are dressing more and more feminine these days its really depressing.

    In response to "Surrey"

There is nothing "girly" about fitted jeans. What defines "girly," anyway?
I know for a fact that there are several girls who wear clothes that aren't fitted, but does that make them any less of a girl? Of course not.

    "Tight clothes" does not equate"girly."

Also, why is depressing that men dress however they want to? If they want to dress more "feminine," fine.
And that just goes to show that there is nothing "feminine" about how they are dressing, because they are dressing the way they want to, regardless of their sex.

Please consider what stereotypes you are perpetuating when you make comments such as these.

    Thanks!
