Although Slam Poetry is a beautiful medium for cultivating relationships between unlikely people, at its core, it's the discovery of oneself.
"Unleashed," the Slam Poetry Club's first event, took place on Friday during fifth and sixth period. "Unleashed" was an open-mic for Blazers who wanted to showcase their talent or practice performing.
"Beautiful black women mother of the earth/A skin who's been embraced by the sun but led by a curse." These words begin senior Andy Mbala's poem entitled "Black Women."
