Blair juniors and seniors attended motivational assemblies in the auditorium during third and first period, respectively, on Friday, Feb. 3. Students were encouraged to work hard in high school and begin looking to the future by administrators and motivational speaker Rodney Saunders.

Saunders, who was called "one of the most highly sought after speakers in the country" by Assistant Principal Linda Wanner, discouraged seniors from succumbing to senioritis and tried to present the hardships of making it to and through college with a workbook courtesy of Monster, a job searching website and service.

Wanner also encouraged seniors to make it through the end of the year and stand up to adversity. She used a metaphorical story whose lesson was to change the circumstances around you when things do not go right, instead of succumbing to pressure.
