APR 30, MONTGOMERY BLAIR HIGH SCHOOL--

Boys lacrosse pulled through with a much-needed win, despite a saved Paint Branch shot at the buzzer. The 8-7 win carries the team back to .500.

The Blazers found themselves ahead by a single point in the remaining minutes of the game. However, after a time-out with ten seconds left, Paint Branch had possession of the ball with sophomore goalie Andrew Helguson in their sights. With three seconds remaining, the shot was launched at Helgeson, but pressure by sophomore Erik Kojola and a stop by Helgeson prevented the tying goal.

Captain John Selby lit up the field, scoring a hat trick. Several other Blazers made it onto the scoreboard, including junior Alex Berger and sophomore Justin Hoy, who had his first goal of the season.

The team will face the Whitman Vikings at Whitman High School on May 2 at 5:00 pm.
