Cookie bars defy label limitations


For many party-going Blazers, there is but one epic question that is all but unanswerable: cookies or brownies? Now, an answer has finally descended from the heavens. These chocolate chip cookie bars present the perfect balance between cookies and brownies. Whatever you decide to call them, they are perfect for parties as well as after-school and late-night snacking.

Makes 48 2-inch bars

Kitchenware:
- Small mixing bowl
- Large mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Egg beater or spoon
- 10x15x1 inch pan

Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation:


1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2.In small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt

3.In large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and brown sugar until light. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth

4.Gradually add flour mixture until combined

5.Stir in chocolate chips

6.Spread dough evenly into greased 8x15x1 inch pan

7.Bake for 20-25 minutes
