BNC will host the annual Semester Shakedown on Jan. 28 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the SAC. In addition to Blair students, students from Northwood, Wheaton, Einstein and Kennedy High Schools have been invited to attend the dance.

Tickets for the Semester Shakedown will not be sold during exam week; however, they will continue to be sold for $5 in the SGA office during the week of Jan. 25- Jan. 28, according to BNC advisor Shay Taylor. Tickets will be sold at Northwood and Wheaton during the week before the Shakedown as well.

Einstein and Kennedy students will be able to purchase a ticket for $7 at the door. According to Taylor, a student must have an MCPS ID or be accompanied by a student with an MCPS ID to enter the dance.

BNC Public Relations Executive Director senior Elysia Sivak hopes that the Shakedown will be a popular choice for students at Blair and the other down-county schools. "We are expecting a good turnout," she said.

Sivak mentioned that drug use policies and all other MCPS policies will be enforced, citing the fact that security guards from all of the high schools will be present. "It's important for students to keep in mind the rules concerning safety and security. We don't want alcohol or drug use to be an issue,” she said.
