Blazers' participation in online poll could get team featured on Fox News

The football team's upcoming game against Blake is one of five featured games on Fox 5's "High School Game of the Week" contest. The game that gets the most votes in an open online poll will be broadcast on the Fox 5 news channel on Friday.

The winning game will receive "the star treatment," according to the Fox 5 web site. Sports anchor Lou Holder will air his 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts from the home school, inviting each school's coaches, players, cheerleaders, band and student body to appear on the first program. The later show will feature highlights and post-game comments. Additional highlights, coverage and an article will be available on the Fox 5 web site after the game.

To win, the Blazers must combine forces with the Blake Bengals to outvote the other featured schools. Blazers are encouraged to spread the word to peers, families and anyone else with "a rooting interest," according to the contest details. The online poll can be found here in the Sports section of the Fox 5 web site. Blazers may monitor the progress of the poll by using the same link.

The winning game will be announced on tonight's 10 p.m. broadcast.
