Girl's soccer waits while staying in shape

The girls varsity soccer season has been severely disrupted by the recent sniper attacks.

The girls have been trying to get in as much practice as possible by practicing in the gym everyday after school from 3:30 to 4:30. The last game they played was against Springbrook on October 1. Coach and social studies teacher Bob Gibb sends around regular emails to the team to alert them of practice. Some of the emails are motivational, as well, encouraging the girls to practice safely and to try and stay in shape.

According to the Montgomery County School's web site, there was a meeting held on October 16th to determine if schools could restart their outdoor athletics. "A planning group with expertise in school athletics, logistics, security, transportation, high school administration, and county government," made a presentation to superintendent Jerry Weast. The group is meeting again on October 21, to discuss the issue further.
