Games can end in ties?

This last week in the NFL saw the Titans continue their undefeated streak, the Lions continue their defeated streak, the Skins fall to the Cowboys and the Eagles and Bengals tie. Tie? Yes, apparently games can end in ties. It was the first tie in the NFL since the 2002 season.

This week, the Redskins face their coach's former team, Seattle. The Titans hope to be 11-0 after squaring off with the Jets. Another Thursday game gives fans an early dose of football action to help students survive the full week in preparation for a two-and-a-half-day week.

As for our experts, Anshul has nearly completed the comeback. He now sits only three games behind Kevin with six weeks of football left to be played. Sean isn't out of the race for supremacy yet as there is plenty of action left in the season.

Standings:
Last week Season total
Anshul 13-3 102-58
Kevin 11-5 105-55
Sean 8-8 91-69

Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008

Cincinnati Bengals (1-8-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Pittsburgh

Anshul says:
The Bengals now have a win and a tie over the Lions. Unfortunately, the Steelers aren't as forgiving as the Eagles.

Kevin says:
The Bengals had a surprising tie with the Eagles. That won't deter the Steelers.

Sean says:
How did the Bengals pull that off? I doubt they'll do that to the other team in Pennsylvania.

Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008

Philadelphia Eagles (5-4-1) at Baltimore Ravens (6-4)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Baltimore Baltimore Philadelphia

Anshul says:
I wasn't aware teams could tie (just kidding, sorry McNabb). The Ravens' defense won't allow the Eagles to run all over them like the G-Men did.

Kevin says:
The Eagles disappoint me, as they tied with a 1-8 team. Go Maryland!

Sean says:
Oh, the Eagles - why must they be so confusing? Don't disappoint me, Donovan!

Houston Texans (3-7) at Cleveland Browns (4-6)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Houston Houston Houston

Anshul says:
The Browns are improving with Brady Quinn at the helm, but the Texans have a potent offense that the Browns just aren't capable of handling yet.

Kevin says:
The Browns got a ridiculous win after a couple of field goals. As long as the Texans can do what they do best (Andre Johnson), they should have few problems.

Sean says:
The stars at night - are big and bright - deep in the heart of Texas!

San Francisco 49ers (3-7) at Dallas Cowboys (6-4)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Dallas Dallas Dallas

Anshul says:
Let's not dwell on the past. I've moved on. Take your win, Dallas.

Kevin says:
The Niners should not beat the Cowboys at home, even though the Cowboys are terrible.

Sean says:
No one on the Niners has swagger like us. DALLAS. ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) at Detroit Lions (0-10)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Tampa Bay Tampa Bay Tampa Bay

Anshul says:
Time is running out for the Lions.

Kevin says:
...

Sean says:
Dear, I fear we're facing a problem. The Detriots Lions are still winless and maybe there is nothing that I can do to make them win. Anshul tells me I shouldn't bother, that I ought to just root for another team, a team that truly deserves me. But I think they do. So I cry, I pray and I beg - Tampa Bay, go easy on them.

Minnesota Vikings (5-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Minnesota Minnesota Minnesota

Anshul says:
This should be an even match-up with two running-based teams. But the defensive line of the Vikings is too strong for the Jags to handle.

Kevin says:
Both of these teams are inconsistent. I feel that the Vikings will have a better-than-average game.

Sean says:
The Jaguars have pulled out mediocre wins from less than mediocre teams and losses from teams on par with the Vikings. I'll go with Minnesota on this one.

Buffalo Bills (5-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-9)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo

Anshul says:
The Bills have slipped up, but not that much.

Kevin says:
The Chiefs are terrible. Blowout of the week much?

Sean says:
Did you know? Did you know? Did you know? DID YOU KNOW!?!?! Did you know that the noise recorded from Arrowhead Stadium was measured at 116 decibels? It's kind of sad when you have such exuberant fans that don't realize they're going to lose.

New England Patriots (6-4) at Miami Dolphins (6-4)

Anshul Kevin Sean
Miami New England Miami

Anshul says:
Don't look now, but the Dolphins have won four straight and have a good chance to make it five against an injury-plagued New England team.

Kevin says:
I feel as though the Patriots have beaten better teams in their season as opposed to the Dolphins.

Sean says:
With His Greatness the Bill Parcells and karma on Miami's side, nothing can stop them from reaching victory.

Chicago Bears (5-5) at St. Louis Rams (2-8)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Chicago Chicago Chicago

Anshul says:
Chicago needs this win to stay pace in the division. The Rams should be considering who to draft at this point.

Kevin says:
The Rams will go 2-14 when they really should be 0-16. The Bears are still one of the unpredictable teams in the league. We'll see how this one plays out.

Sean says:
Do you think about me now and then? Do you think about me now and then? Well, the Bears are going home again (with a win).

New York Jets (7-3) at Tennessee Titans (10-0)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Tennessee Tennessee Tennessee

Anshul says:
The Jets have a good chance to upset the Titans here. But Brett Favre is prone to making mistakes, especially with pressure in his face. And what will the Titans bring? Pressure.

Kevin says:
I don't see an upset here, especially since the Titans have a rock-solid defense and the Jets have Favre.

Sean says:
The Titans will not be stopped by the likes of the Jets.

Oakland Raiders (2-8) at Denver Broncos (6-4)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Denver Denver Denver

Anshul says:
The Raiders are looking forward to another top-five draft choice to boost their team.

Kevin says:
The Broncos beat the Falcons. I have no doubt about this one.

Sean says:
Sorry, Oakland. Every dog has its day, but that day for you isn't coming for a long while.

Carolina Panthers (8-2) at Atlanta Falcons (6-4)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Carolina Carolina Carolina

Anshul says:
The Falcons have my faith this season, but the Panthers are just too good. They are a threat both through the air and on the ground.

Kevin says:
The Panthers are one of the supreme teams this year. The Falcons are decent, but they still have doubts with Matt Ryan.

Sean says:
The Panthers are awesome and - nope, no one cares.

New York Giants (9-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-3)
Anshul Kevin Sean
New York New York New York

Anshul says:
The Cardinals are good but the G-Men are just too good.

Kevin says:
Kurt Warner is old, and Eli Manning is young. The Giants also have luck.

Sean says:
The Giants once again take to the field doing that voodoo they do so well.

Washington Redskins (6-4) at Seattle Seahawks (2-8)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Washington Washington Washington

Anshul says:
After a disappointing loss to Dallas, Jim Zorn will take out his anger on his former team. The Seahawks are finally getting healthy, so the Skins should not take this as an automatic win, much like they did with the Rams.

Kevin says:
Too bad the Redskins aren't 9-1 because they deserve to be there. Zorn will have fun claiming revenge on his ex-team.

Sean says:
Zorn used to coach them! Oh, the DRAMA! I won't pick against Washington this time after losing to the Cowboys in their own stadium.

Indianapolis Colts (6-4) at San Diego Chargers (4-6)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Indianapolis Indianapolis Indianapolis

Anshul says:
Phillip Rivers may lead the league in touchdown passes, but the Colts are just too good. They're starting to run the ball well again and that could really push them into the playoffs just when most people were starting to count them out.

Kevin says:
The Colts are better than the Chargers, especially with the lame-duck nature of L.T.

Sean says:
L.T.'s glory is as absent as Kevin's fashion sense.

Monday November 24, 2008

Green Bay Packers (5-5) at New Orleans Saints (5-5)
Anshul Kevin Sean
Green Bay Green Bay New Orleans

Anshul says:
I want to pick the Saints here, but with Ryan Grant turning it on recently, I just don't see it happening.

Kevin says:
Inconsistent, these teams are, just like Sean Howard's motivation. We all have our strengths, I suppose.

Sean says:
Lame, these teams are, kinda like Kevin Teng's jokes and overall persona. We all can't be awesome, I suppose. Oh, and I think the Saints can pull through here.
