Rally for Metro purple line

A rally in favor of a new purple Metro line was held Tuesday March 11 at the Silver Spring Metro.

The new purple line would run beneath the inner loop of the Beltway and offer quick public transportation to different parts of the suburbs. The current system requires travelers to ride all the way into Washington D.C. and then back out again to go from Silver Spring to Bethesda.

The rally included speeches from community leaders. It was sponsored by the Montgomery County Student Environmental Activists.
