SCO Madness

Who's at the top of our first annual Chips Online NCAA Pool?

Each year, a nation of college basketball crazies celebrate the month of March by filling out brackets and entering pools, usually with a hefty sum of money on the line. The Silver Chips Online staff followed suit prior to this year's tournament (minus the entry fee…we're poor) by starting a new tradition with the first annual SCO Madness pool.

With the Final Four beginning on Saturday night, we now present to you our pool's current standings, with the picks we made back in mid-March. Most of us took the safe route, picking the Kentuckys and the UNCs to make it to New Orleans. Others decided to have fun with it because there wasn't any cash on the line.

A closer look at Margie's bracket. Three out of four Final Four teams...Nice! Photo courtesy of CBS Sports.

The great thing about the NCAA tournament is that you don't have to be a college basketball guru for your bracket to do well. In fact, based on our pool standings heading into the Final Four, the exact opposite is true. Just check which teams yours truly, an avid basketball fan (whatever that means), had in the Final Four. Yeah, I didn't do so hot this year. Then look to the top of the leaderboard, and you'll find our EiC Margie Fuchs, whose bracket I helped fill out. Never again, Margie!

Shout-out to Emma Lansworth, who nailed the Louisville Final Four pick. Out of 6.45 million brackets on ESPN, only 6.8% picked the Cardinals to reach N'awlins. Unfortunately, the rest of her Final Four was VCU, Montana and North Carolina…

Check the standings, make fun of us (especially my picks) and comment to let us know which teams you had making it to the Big Easy.
