Non-cultural clubs to perform tomorrow during 6th period in the gym

The SGA will hold this year's club showcase in the gymnasium today, during 6th period. Every year, the club showcase event gives Blair's after school clubs the chance to perform for the rest of the school.

"The club showcase is a performance opportunity for all student organizations at Blair to demonstrate their exceptional talent," said SGA Director of Club Services David Hu, who coordinated the event.

The event will feature a slight change from previous years. In the past, all performing clubs, about 10 in all, had to perform within a short period of time. This year's club showcase will be divided into two parts. "What we're trying to do is have non-cultural clubs perform on Wednesday, while cultural clubs will perform in December. This gives each club more time to showcase their talent," says Hu.

The showcase will have performances by the Diva Dancers, Fashion Club, InToneNation, Blair's marching band drumline and Step Team. As the gym cannot accommodate the whole school population all at once, the performance will be divided into two halves, with half of the school attending each segment.

Last year's performance included about 10 clubs total, all of which had to perform within the 90-minute block.
