The food drive is one of many fundraisers SGA has planned for this holiday season

From Nov. 14 to Dec. 19, Blair's Student Government Association (SGA) is collecting canned food from staff and students to donate to local homeless shelters. Students can donate canned food or money during both lunch periods on Blair Boulevard or in room 161.

Giving back to the community through the food drive is one of SGA's traditions. "It's an annual thing we do to help homeless people during the holiday season, as Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up," junior Swechchha Shrestha, SGA's parliamentarian, said. In the upcoming months, the SGA is also hosting a toy drive and organizing Holiday Hope Week, where students can make cards that will be sent to hospitals to help patients.
