SilverStyle is a weekly blog focusing on fashion and beauty both in and outside of Blair. Come back next Wednesday for the next edition of SilverStyle.

While the weather outside suggests that we will be trapped in this snow-less winter forever, the first day of Spring is actually today, March 20, and we at SCO are expecting nothing but sunshine and happiness for spring break next week. Okay, the weatherman actually says we'll still be in the 40s to 50s temperature-wise for break, but good things come to those who wait. It's almost time to push your winter coats to the back of your closet and get rid of the extra scarves and gloves in your backpack to make room for the awesome new Spring trends this year, so sit back and read on to find out how you can dress to impress this spring season.

Maxi Mania
Maxi dresses and skirts made their comeback last summer and we still aren't tired of them. If you're in the mood to wear something light and airy while still showing off some leg, then thank goodness overlay maxi dresses and skirts have been introduced to the scene. This amazing creation is basically a tight skirt usually ending a few inches before your knee with a sheer overlay fabric on top of it. Maxi dresses have to be one of the most comfortable articles of clothes, and the fact that they still look amazing and elegant seal the deal.

Two chainz (or just one)
When spring comes along, everything gets brighter, even our accessories. Many retailers have hundreds of new necklaces that will put together any outfit. Whether you're looking for something with a thick chain or a unique pendant, you'll be sure to find it this season. And let's be real, after a while, your spring wardrobe becomes a regular tee paired with some ripped up shorts. Spice up the outfit with a funky and fun necklace and you'll feel great wherever you go.

70 degrees and snowing.
Considering how unpredictable Maryland weather can be, you need to be prepared for anything. Yeah, it may be 70 degrees one day, but don't be surprised when it's flurrying and 30 degrees the next. Even though I said earlier that we'd be putting our winter coats away, it's still a good idea to keep a light jacket around, since the weather is so unpredictable (remember the 2013 snowpocalypse anyone?). Utility jackets are the perfect solution to our weather situation and basically go with every outfit. They also make you feel like you participate in military drills and roll around in mud while still looking tough which is also kind of cool.

The basic idea of this season's styles suggest that it's best to be prepared for weather that isn't so spring-y while still embracing the sunshine when it does comes around. Layers can especially be helpful around this time of season, especially because it'll be 30 degrees during the time we usually walk to bus stops and then dramatically rise to 65 around lunch, which is always a joy.
