Girls' basketball downs Sherwood High School, improves to 7-11 on the season

With over twenty fouls in the first half, the tempo of the girls' basketball game was slow and methodical. That worked to Blair's advantage as they routed Sherwood High School, 49-31, improving their overall record to 7-11.

Junior Colby Chapman got her first home start of the season and led all scorers with 10 points. Her efforts didn't help Blair break away from Sherwood until after halftime, however.

Leading 22-17 at the break, the Blazers' guard play was excellent, as sophomore Mckenzie Robinson, as well as juniors Lara Dean and Jen Sindall combined for eighteen points.

Blair's post, consisting of sophomores Caroline Kuttner, Emily Ramsay and Carey Bartlett, as well as senior Erin Ivey, added 17 points. Ramsay, who often leads the team in scoring, only scored one point. Bartlett has been injured for most of the season and dropped six points.

By the end of the third quarter, Blair pulled away from Sherwood, increasing their lead to 21 points. A solid fourth quarter effort secured their first win in three games.
