Stadium seating delayed

Construction of stadium seating for the baseball field, originally slated to begin Feb 15, started almost three weeks late. The field will likely remain unfinished until the end of May.

The construction, financed by the Silver Spring/Takoma Park Thunderbolts, a collegiate baseball team that uses the field in the summer, was delayed because of snow. There is a slight chance that the field will receive temporary seating for the rest of the season, according to Blair baseball coach John Macdonald.

Macdonald sees the lack of seating as a only a minor setback. "I don't want to complain, because our field and the seating will be a step above the rest," he said, noting that the construction will affect fans but not the team.
