Weast to address the budget for the Fiscal Year 2005

Superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools Jerry Weast will be visiting Blair on Wednesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the recommended operating budget for the 2005 Fiscal Year.

Recently, Weast announced a "deep-freeze" for all expenditures, with exceptions in school-based spending and staff salaries for this year. Weast explained that the freeze was put in place to compensate possible revenue shortfalls for this year and deficits in budget areas.

Weast is likely to address the budget freeze in addition to the 2005 Fiscal Year budget plan. The presentation is open to the public.
