Senior Ross Williams qualifies for All-Star Basketball team

Senior Ross Williams, who lettered in both basketball and football this year, has qualified for the county All-Star Basketball team. Williams, who has been playing on Blair's varsity team since his sophomore year, led the team in scoring and to their first playoff win in ten years this season.

Williams learned of his achievement at the winter sports awards ceremony earlier this month. "I was happy especially since no one from Blair has made it for a long time," he said. The distinction places Williams as one of the top basketball players in Blair's division (4A due to Blair's large student body) and earns him a spot on the county 4A team.

Basketball coaches from around the county vote on players of schools they have played against or have otherwise seen and noted as exceptional players. Williams will play for the 4A team against the county's 3A team on March 28 at Montgomery College.

While Williams is happy that he made the county team, he wished that Blair could have done better this season. "It's great that we won a game in the playoffs but we could have won a lot of close games that we didn't," he said.
