With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Blair students have lots to be grateful for this year
Thanksgiving is this Thursday, and for many students, that is synonymous with family, friends and food. But it also means being thankful for all of the good things that have happened over the course of the year, and Blazers have a lot that they are grateful for.
Family and Friends
Many students are grateful for their friends and family, including senior Zoe Abramson and junior Jasmina Petkoff. "I'm thankful for my friends," Petkoff says. She adds in a less serious tone that she’s especially grateful that one of her friends let her pluck his unibrow. “Best day of my life,” she says jokingly. "I'm really thankful for my family and friends," Abramson agrees.
Juniors Mya Taveras and Da'Janae Woolfre gave similar responses. "I'm thankful for my family and friends and myself," Taveras says. "I'm just thankful all around for my family and friends," Woolfre says. Sophomore Rosie Byler is grateful for how much her friends care for her and help her. "They're very supportive," she says.
Opportunity
Freshman Xan Middents is extremely grateful for all of the opportunities and resources that he has access to. "This Thanksgiving season, I'm probably thankful most for the place I have in the world, and that I'm fortunate enough to be able to live in the place that I do, and have the stuff that I have, when many people in the world are not as fortunate," he says. "I have the resources to be able to pursue my education, and to think beyond simple hunger and survival," he adds.
This Thanksgiving season, most Blazers have family and friends on the forefront of their minds. People tend to be more aware than usual of all of their blessings and opportunities around this time of year, but it's important to remember to be grateful year-round.
