Amanda Wallace is currently is in her fourth year of the Communication Arts Program at Blair, and is an art editor for Silver Chips. Although this is her second year on the Silver Chips staff, Amanda pursued her journalism interests over the summer when she attended The Maryland Scholastic Press Program at the University of Maryland where she studied page layout and design techniques. When Amanda is not focusing her energy on school work, she enjoys playing field hockey, basketball and softball, as well as expanding her musical collection and exploring new musical genres. Amanda hopes to pursue a career in communications, but for the time being is concentrating on enjoying her last year of high school.

Boys' swimming glides through Metros

The boys' swim team finished eighth out of 55 teams at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championship (Metros) on Feb 22 and 23. The Blazers boasted a new Blair record in the 200-freestyle relay event with a time of 1:31.13 in preliminaries. The relay team went on to place sixth in finals. This was only one of the team's six finishes in the top ten.

The boys' swim team finished eighth out of 55 teams that competed at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championship on February 22 and 23. The Blazer team boasted a new Blair record in the 200-free relay event with a time of 1:31.13 in preliminaries. The event placed sixth in Finals and was only one of the team's six finishes in the top ten. The meet was comprised of both public and private school teams from the metropolitan region including D.C. and Virginia.
