The Blair boys' basketball team's 11-game winning streak has not gone unnoticed by the local press. On Jan 28 The Washington Post included Blair in its poll of the D.C. area's top 20 high school basketball teams for the first time this season.

The Blazers, who are now 14-2 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the 4A/3A East Division, are ranked 19th and are currently the only Montgomery County Public School team to make the prestigious list.

Blair has only six games remaining in the regular season before the playoffs begin. The Blazers only need to win three of their last five division contests to clinch the regular season Division Title. Those five division opponents - Walter Johnson, Sherwood, Whitman, Churchill and Kennedy high schools - are all schools that Blair has defeated earlier this season by an average margin of 16.4 points. Blair will next be seen in action on Tuesday, Jan 29 at Walter Johnson (5:15). The next home game will be on Tuesday, Feb 5 against Sherwood (7:00).
