Co-ed Volleyball beats Blake with ease

APR 23, NELSON H. KOBREN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM--

The Blair Co-ed volleyball team rolled past Blake High School tonight, beating them in two straight sets, 15-1, 15-9.

The commanding win improved the Blazers' record to 6-2, and put them in high contention for the upcoming playoffs.

Strong play by senior Phil Repicky helped spark the 13-point run in the first set. Repicky spiked and killed many shots, including the game-winning point, as the Bengals had no answer for the 6-foot, 7-inch Blazer.

Coach John Mott was "satisfied" with his team's play, especially Repicky. "[Repicky] has really improved," Mott said. "He's really catching the game. He's becoming a more consistent force for this team."

The remaining games for Blair will be played in preparation for the playoffs in May. "We're trying to peak at the right time," Mott explained. "From here on out, we'll be firing on all cylinders."
