APR 25, NELSON H. KOBREN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM--

The Blair co-ed volleyball team steamrolled past Paint Branch today, beating them in two quick sets, 15-4, 15-9.

The win marks the team's third in a row, improving the season record to 7-2.

The over-matched and under-sized Panthers presented no problem for the Blazers, who consistently made the saves and kills necessary for the win.

Consistent play by junior Amanda Hsiung allowed for several explosive kills from senior Jimmy Taing, including the twelfth point in the first set. A set by Hsiung led to the high-flying spike that helped guarantee the Blazer victory in the first set.

Improved play by junior Lauren Wong and senior Phil Repicky helped out in the victory. Wong made a valuable save in the second set that made a Panther come back even more unlikely. Repicky's improved defense added to the overwhelming play by Blair.

This recent run of victories comes at a good point in the season. However, the Blazers' two losses were to teams in Blair's division, a statistic that will hurt the team's seeding in the playoffs.
