Coed volleyball trounces Northwest

Blair's co-ed volleyball team defeated Northwest 15-7, 15-4 on April 15. The first game was hotly contested, but a quick start to the second game allowed the Blazers to pull away.

Senior co-captain Jennifer Alyono was responsible for that quick start. The dependable setter led off the second game with nine straight points. Senior co-captain Lan Le and seniors Aric Lin and Michael Fan made solid contributions throughout the entire game as well.

"We had two breakdowns on covers but other than that, [the team] did really well," said Coach John Mott.

According to junior Jeffrey Jabonete, Northwest was hurt by their "sloppy hitters." The Jaguars good shots were few as they often failed to keep the ball in bounds and had many shots blocked.

Strong teamwork gave Blair a distinct advantage over Northwest. "The other team just didn't have consistent passes or sets. We were perfect. . . we played as a team today," said Le.
