Varsity girls soccer won their first home game of the season, tonight, 3-0 against Einstein with an exciting first half goal by senior Jennie Breads.

The team's star sophomore, Gillian Gower, assisted Breads and later in the second half had her first varsity goal. Gower received the ball from a beautiful shot by junior Julia Gabriel who almost scored herself. All Gower did was follow through with the shot and tap it in for the third goal of the game. Senior Lorpu Kpadeh had scored the second goal, earlier in the second half.

Blair dominated the first half although only scoring one goal. The only freshman to make varsity, Sophie Esparza, played excellent defense throughout the whole game. Esparza said that she enjoys playing on varsity. "It's fun playing with the older girls." Esparza thought that the girls played better second half as did the coach, Blair social studies teacher, Bob Gibb.

Gibb said that he was a little nervous about the game and that he was "glad it's over." There were about ten girls playing for the first time on varsity. With a big team Gibb was happy he could get them all in. Although he was hard on his team telling them that next game had to be better, he still thought they did well. "Its great to win and great to have a shutout," he said smiling.
