NFL Week 11 Predictions

Nov. 20, 2016, 11:43 a.m. | By Nate Bodner, Ryan Handel, Ellie Williams, Benjamin Yokoyama | 8 years, 1 month ago

We're ten weeks into the NFL season, and some teams have been performing as expected, like the 7-2 Patriots and the 0-10 Browns. Surprisingly, there are a lot of teams that are not performing as expected. The Packers are 4-5, the Cardinals are 4-4-1, the Panthers are 4-6, and the Steelers are 4-5. We'll have to wait and see if these teams can get out of the hole and back to the playoffs. This week, the Redskins will play the Packers, and the Ravens will try to take down the league-best 8-1 Cowboys.

Standings:
Ben: 86-59
Ellie: 85-60
Nate: 83-62
Ryan: 79-66

Saints at Panthers
Ben: Panthers
Nate: Panthers
Ryan: Saints
Ellie: Panthers

Ben says: I say it every week and Cam proves me wrong every time. The Panthers can't possibly lose again.
Nate says:
Ryan says: The Saints defense is finally putting it together, and will be able to put pressure on Cam.
Ellie says: The weak Saints defense can't shut down Cam Newton.

Cardinals at Vikings
Ben: Cardinals
Nate: Cardinals
Ryan: Vikings
Ellie: Vikings

Ben says: The Cardinals could barely squeak out a win against the 49ers, but the Vikings have really hit the skids with a four game losing streak.
Nate says:
Ryan says: The Vikings' defense will finally step up late in the game to hold Palmer and the Cardinals.
Ellie says: Minnesota's defense is strongest at home.

Bills at Bengals
Ben: Bengals
Nate: Bengals
Ryan: Bills
Ellie: Bengals

Ben says: Andy Dalton has been disappointing this year record-wise, but they've kept games close against tough teams.
Nate says: Between two mediocre teams, home field advantage may be the decider.
Ryan says: After a close loss to the tough Seahawks, the Bills will get back on track against the Bengals.
Ellie says: The Bengals are looking for a comeback game after losing to the Giants.

Bears at Giants
Ben: Giants
Nate: Giants
Ryan: Giants
Ellie: Giants

Ben says: The Bears are not so good.
Nate says: The Bears just aren't very good. And they finally realized that Jay Cutler isn't very good either.
Ryan says: The Giants are in a different league than the lowly Bears.
Ellie says: Nobody can contain OBJ.

Steelers at Browns
Ben: Steelers
Nate: Steelers
Ryan: Steelers
Ellie: Steelers

Ben says: It may just seem like I'm picking the same teams as Nate, but the Browns are horrendous.
Nate says: 0-11 here they come.
Ryan says: The Steelers struggled last week, but the Browns struggle every week.
Ellie says: The Browns may not win all year.

Buccaneers at Chiefs
Ben: Chiefs
Nate: Chiefs
Ryan: Chiefs
Ellie: Chiefs

Ben says: I pick against them, and they win every single week. Really not fair.
Nate says: The Chiefs big play defense will carry them over the talented Bucs
Ryan says: The Bucs can't finish games against solid teams.
Ellie says: The Chiefs are better on both sides of the ball and are playing at home.

Ravens at Cowboys
Ben: Ravens
Nate: Cowboys
Ryan: Cowboys
Ellie: Cowboys

Ben says: The Cowboys have to lose eventually… And I desperately want them to lose.
Nate says: I hope to god I'm wrong but the Cowboys are playing freakishly well.
Ryan says: Now that Prescott officially has his team's support, the pressure will be off and he will thrive.
Ellie says: The Ravens are still struggling with their offensive identity.

Jaguars at Lions
Ben: Lions
Nate: Lions
Ryan: Lions
Ellie: Lions

Ben says: The Lions, somehow, are a first place team, and the Jaguars, understandably, are a last place team.
Nate says: The Lions are hot right now and the Jags are still struggling on both sides of the ball.
Ryan says: There's no better way for the Lions to pull ahead in the NFC North than by facing the Jaguars.
Ellie says: Matt Stanford comes up big.

Titans at Colts
Ben: Titans
Nate: Titans
Ryan: Titans
Ellie: Titans

Ben says: Marcus Mariota and the two-headed running game of the Titans have a fantastic, multi-faceted attack. The Colts can't stop an offense like that.
Nate says: The Titans obliterated Green Bay offensively last week. No reason it shouldn't continue against the poor Colts defense
Ryan says: When Mariota doesn't make silly turnovers, the Titans are very hard to stop.
Ellie says: Tennessee is hot after a blowout win against the Packers, and should keep their momentum into this week against a struggling Colts team.

Dolphins at Rams
Ben: Dolphins
Nate: Rams
Ryan: Dolphins
Ellie: Dolphins

Ben says: Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins have so many weapons on offense.
Nate says: I've been telling myself for weeks that Todd Gurley is finally going to go off. And with Jared Goff named starter, this could be an interesting game in L.A.
Ryan says: Don't look now, but the Dolphins are on a four game win streak.
Ellie says: The Rams are starting a rookie QB, so Miami might have a chance.

Patriots at 49ers
Ben: Patriots
Nate: Patriots
Ryan: Patriots
Ellie: Patriots

Ben says: The Pats are just too good for a bad 49ers team. Don't know how the Patriots lost last week.
Nate says: Doesn't matter who's playing QB, the 49ers are not a good football team.
Ryan says: The only thing worse than facing the Patriots is facing the angry Patriots.
Ellie says: Patriots because Patriots.

Eagles at Seahawks
Ben: Eagles
Nate: Seahawks
Ryan: Seahawks
Ellie: Seahawks

Ben says: The Eagles defense stepped up to stop the Falcons' big offense, while Carson Wentz was able to prove that he wasn't just a four game wonder.
Nate says: The Seahawks have woken up after a slow start the season and look like NFC title contenders. The Eagles are inconsistent.
Ryan says: The Seahawks are hitting their stride at just the right time.
Ellie says: Seattle has the best home field advantage in all of football.

Packers at Redskins
Ben: Redskins
Nate: Redskins
Ryan: Redskins
Ellie: Redskins

Ben says: Go Skins!
Nate says: Green Bay has a losing record somehow, and got destroyed by Tennessee last week. The Skins picked the right time to play the Packers.
Ryan says: Aaron Rodgers is suddenly looking very beatable.
Ellie says: Mike McCarthy should have been fired a while ago.

Texans at Raiders
Ben: Raiders
Nate: Raiders
Ryan: Raiders
Ellie: Raiders

Ben says: Derek Carr might be the best QB in the league right now.
Nate says: Carr and the Raiders are just too hot to stop right now. And they have plenty to play for with the AFC West championship so contested.
Ryan says: Osweiler will crumble against the Raiders' tough defense.
Ellie says: The Raiders have been a pretty complete team all season.
