Former MCCPTA treasurer embezzled $39,015

Former Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA) treasurer Lisa Betts, 47, was charged with embezzlement and misuse of MCCPTA funds. She pleaded guilty on Nov. 17 at the Montgomery County Circuit Court before Judge David Boynton in Rockville.

On Feb. 26, the Blair Cluster's "School Safety and Sensible Gun Policies" resolution was presented to the Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Associations (MCCPTA). The resolution, sponsored by committee co-chairs Ed Feigen and Ina Schonberg, aims to increase gun control and improve mental health policies.
