Blazers tie for second at states

The boys' track and field team tied for second place at the Maryland 4A State Championship Meet on Saturday, May 24 at Morgan State University. The team brought home three state champion titles in the 4x200m relay, the 4x400m relay and the 200m dash.

GEORGETOWN PREP INDOOR TRACK, Jan. 23 – The boys' track placed sixth out of 19 teams in the Montgomery County Championship Meet, scoring a total of 41 points from sprint relays and strong individual performances. The girls' team placed sixteenth out of 21 teams, but showed great development in individual events.

Blair breaks into top ten at County Championship

Blair's boys' and girls' track teams performed brilliantly at the Montgomery County Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet, placing in the top ten for the first time in recent history. Under the leadership of speedy senior sisters Ashlyn and Halsey Sinclair, the girls' team placed sixth in the county with 35 points. Anchored by strong relay squads, the boys' placed seventh with 29 points, just one year after failing to score a single point in the meet.

Blazers split results in first track meet of the season

Both the boys' and girls' outdoor track teams defeated Northwood in their season opener, 76 points to 50 and 92 to 30 respectively. However, while the boys improved their season record to 2-0 by defeating Paint Branch 72 to 69, the girls fell to the Panthers 61.5 to 79.5.

The activities eligible for Student Service Learning (SSL) have been restricted by several recent policy changes, according to MCPS SSL Coordinator Pamela Meador. The newest change requires non-profit organizations seeking clearance from individual school SSL coordinators to provide their tax-exempt numbers.

"Crossover" to another theater

As one of several sports-themed movies coming out this fall, "Crossover" is supposedly unique in that it covers the growing phenomena of street-ball, a style of underground basketball with few rules, just "good, clean fun." But with outdated Wayne Brady as the marquee actor and only several minutes of real basketball, "Crossover" becomes just another cliché.
