The Blair girls' varsity volleyball team (5-2) played a long and intense match against the Sherwood Warriors (11-0), but was ultimately defeated. The match was tough from the get-go as both teams played their all; the scores for the three sets were 18-25, 19-25, and 19-25.
The Blair Blazers (4-0) were able to soundly defeat the Clarksburg Coyotes (1-2) on Monday night. Blair pulled together a strong defense and kept pounding Clarksburg with fast spikes and consistent serves, resulting in 3 sets for the Blazers and a quick match; the scores for the sets were 25-12, 25-16, and 25-16.
In their second match of the season, the girls' volleyball team (1-1) won against the Rockville Rams (0-2).
The girls' varsity volleyball team (3-6) lost to Paint Branch (6-5) in three sets on Thursday, with final scores of 13-25, 21-25 and 19-25. Though the Blazers more than matched Paint Branch for much of the game, the final scores reflected isolated periods of poor serve reception that cost Blair the win.
The Wootton Patriots (3-1) defeated the girls' varsity volleyball team (1-3) in a tense match on Thursday. Wootton overpowered the Blazers by significant leads in three sets, with scores of 6-25, 15-25 and 10-25.
The girls' varsity volleyball team (0-1) was overwhelmed in a difficult match against the B-CC Barons (1-0), whose powerful offense seemed unstoppable for the Blazers. Though Blair showed improvement as the game progressed, they dropped all three of the game's sets with scores of 12-25, 16-25 and 14-25.
