Montgomery County is piloting a new comprehensive bicycle lane network. According to the Montgomery County Bicycle Master Plan, the goals of the new network are to increase bicycling rates in Montgomery County, create a convenient and low-stress bicycling network, provide equal access to low-stress bicycling for all members of the community and improve bicycling safety.
