Test centers implement extra protocols to adhere to social distancing guidelines
Starting in September 2020, students will have new options when taking the ACT and reporting their scores
A Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) will be administered at Blair for all interested juniors free of cost on the morning of April 10. The free test is part of a county-wide program being piloted at various high schools to grant all students access to college entrance exams.
Instead of measuring the merit of a student based on a single test, schools such as George Washington University, Wake Forest University and Hampshire College have reduced the impact of college entrance exams.
Although the new SAT has good intentions, it won't fix the old SAT’s failure to fulfill the test's purpose-- to provide colleges with a fair and accurate evaluation of students' ability to succeed in college.
