Whitman tramples over Blair

Despite coming out strong, the boys' varsity lacrosse team (1-2) fell to the Walt Whitman Vikings by a final score of 20-3. As Whitman slowly gained momentum, the Blazers struggled with clear communication and creative attacking play.


Girls' lacrosse routs Einstein

A cold Friday night proved to be no obstacle for Blair's girls' lacrosse team (1-2) as they defeated the Einstein Titans (0-3) by a final score of 13-5. The Blazers took the lead early and dominated for the rest of the game.


Boys' tennis bests Sherwood

The Blair boys varsity tennis team (1-2) prevailed over the Sherwood Warriors (0-2) in the season home opener. After two straight losses to divisional power houses Wooton and Whitman, the Blazers were able to beat a weaker Sherwood team 5-2, mainly because of strong singles play. The boys singles completed a sweep, winning all four matches.

On a crisp Wednesday evening, Blair's boys' lacrosse team (1-1) fell to the Quince Orchard Cougars (2-0) at home by a score of 16-4.

The Blair boys' basketball team (9-11) fell to the Kennedy Cavaliers (13-11) in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday afternoon 53-46, bringing their season to an unfortunate end. The game felt much closer than the seven point difference indicates.

Girls' Basketball suffers narrow defeat against Wootton

With the stadium more crowded than ever this season, the Blazers (7-13) readily took on the Wootton Patriots (18-2) on their senior night. Though the Blazers came close to winning after a last-minute comeback, the Patriots were able to surge ahead in the final seconds of the last regular season game, resulting in a final score of 58-55.

Everything that could possibly go wrong at the end of a basketball game, ended up doing so for the Blazers on Tuesday night. The Sherwood Warriors (9-6) capitalized on a couple of late Blair (6-9) mistakes and used an 11-2 run to grab a huge come from behind win 55-52.

Before the puck dropped on Blair's Nov. 7 opener against the Rockville Rams, there were many questions about whether Blazer Hockey would even be able to field a team.
