In front of a nearly packed gym, the the boys' basketball team (1-0) overcame nerves and anxiousness to beat the Northwood Gladiators (0-1) in their season opener 71-52.

Northwest eliminates Blair from the playoffs

On a blisteringly cold Friday night in Germantown, the Blazers (8-3) took the field for the last time this season, some for the last time ever, with hopes to upset the mighty Northwest Jaguars (10-1) on the road in the first round of the playoffs. Things didn't end up as Blair hoped however, as the game ended with a 38-3 loss but the Blazers were still able to realize how far they had come this season.


Girls' soccer falls to B-CC in first playoff game

The Blazers (5-8-1) lost 4-0 to the Bethesda Chevy-Chase Barons (12-3) on Friday night, ending their season on a bittersweet note. Though the scoreboard may not have reflected it, the Blazers put up an unrelenting fight through the entirety of the game.

Girls' Volleyball prevails over B-CC

The Blair girls' varsity volleyball team (10-2) defeated the Bethesda- Chevy Chase Barons (7-5) in three lengthy sets. The match was special for the Blazers because it was senior night, the last home game for seniors before playoffs. The Barons played a tough game throughout the match, but the Blazers were able to hold their own and eventually outplayed them. The scores for the three sets were: 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22.

Boys' varsity soccer (5-2-4) beat Blake (6-5-2) by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. A combination of communication, possession, and smart passes led the team to a satisfying victory over Blake.

Blair varsity field hockey (4-5) dominated the Kennedy Cavaliers Monday night, winning 7-0. The game was a perfect way to close the season as the Blazers advance towards playoffs. Following the game, the Blazers congratulated their seniors amid their final game at Blair's stadium.

The Blair girls' varsity volleyball team (6-2) played an exceptional match against the Kennedy Cavaliers (2-6), resulting in a victory for the Blazers. The match saw a large variety of players on the court as Coach Klein kept subbing in second-string players; this strategy got the second-string players engaged and showcased their abilities in-game. The Blazers won the match in 3 sets which had the scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-19.

Boys varsity soccer (3-1-4) easily defeated Northwood (1-5) under a grey cloudy sky on Monday evening. Northwood's defense was strong, but not strong enough to hold back a determined Blair team. Blair's offense had control of the ball for the majority of the game and managed to secure a significant lead during the first half of play.
