Despite mounting a two score comeback in the third quarter, the deficit faced by the Montgomery Blair Blazers was too steep in a 48-17 loss in the first round of the playoffs to the Quince Orchard (QO) Cougars on a windy Friday night.


Boy's soccer falls to Meade in state semifinal

The Blair Blazers (15-2) lost to the Meade Mustangs (16-1) 3-1 in penalty kicks Saturday night. After regulation and two overtime periods the score was 0-0 in a game dominated by two tough defensive units. The loss knocked the Blazers out of the playoffs.


Blair boys' soccer wins division championship

The Blair Blazers (15-1) beat the Wootton Patriots (10-4) 3-1 Tuesday in the regional championship game. The Blazers took a commanding three goal lead early in the game, and Wootton scored a late goal in a bid to get back into the game. With this victory, Blair advances to the state semifinals.
