Deja vu in win for girls' lacrosse

On a rainy Wednesday night, the girls' lacrosse team beat the Paint Branch Panthers yet again in their first game of playoffs. The game was strangely reminiscent of their match against Paint Branch in the regular season which finished with the same score 15-9.

The Blair girls' lacrosse team (5-7) celebrated a Senior Night victory against the Wheaton Knights (2-10) with a final score of 15-4. From the beginning it was going to be a night for the seniors on the team and they showed this with all of the senior attack getting on the scoreboard in their dominating performance.


Blair seniors shine against Blake on Senior Night

Everything seemed to come together for Blair baseball on senior night. The last home game of the regular season was rife with strong defensive plays and quality pitching performances, all backed up with strong offensive play. Performing for a packed house of ardent fans, Blair took down Blake High School 6-1, to improve their record to 13-3 on the season.


Blazers destroy Knights

On a hot Saturday afternoon, the Blair boys' lacrosse team met the Wheaton Knights on the field of battle for the first time. In front of a cheering crowd, Blair got off to a strong start and kept the momentum for the rest of the game. By the end of the match, the final score was Blair 17, Wheaton 4. The game, apart from being the last regular season game, was also Blair's senior night.


Varsity Softball ends winning streak

In a heartbreaking end to their regular season at home and their fourteen game winning streak, Blair's Varsity softball team (14-2) was narrowly defeated by the Blake Bengals (11-2). It was a tough game for the Blazers, who started out strong but slowed throughout the game and never quite recovered. A late seventh inning rally seemed like it might turn the game around for the Blazers, but a bad call in the bottom of the eighth inning ended the game, 5-4, Blake.


Boys' tennis cruises past Kennedy

The Blair boys' varsity tennis team (6-5) capped off their season with a 7-0 sweep against the Kennedy Cavaliers on senior night. Senior co-captains Ishaan Parikh and Rahul Bahle each had a memorable game with 6-0 sweeps against their respective opponents.


Boys' volleyball is defeated by BCC

The Blair boy's volleyball team had their senior night game against the BCC Barons and fell to their strong opponents, going down by the score of 25-14, 25-15, 25-21.


Blazers blast past Knights

In front of a very vocal crowd, the girls' varsity softball (15-1) took on the Wheaton Knights at home on Wednesday evening. After getting off to a rough start, the Blazers quickly turned themselves around and began to dominate the game. By the top of the fifth inning, the high scoring game ended thanks to the mercy rule. The final score was Blair 19, Wheaton 1.


Varsity Softball beats Clarksburg in stellar comeback game

In their closest and most exciting game of the season, the varsity softball team made an amazing comeback from a six run deficit. The game got off to a slow start for the Blazers whose defense was a bit off at the top of the game. However, when things got grim for the team, they rallied together and improved both their offense and defense. Going from a six run shortage to a three run lead, the Blazers eventually overtook the Clarksburg Coyotes. They closed out the game, their lead slightly lessened,by the score of 11-10 Blair.


Girls' lacrosse suffers loss to Walter Johnson

In their final home game before playoffs, the girls' lacrosse team (4-6) suffered a preventable loss against the Walter Johnson Wildcats (3-7). The two teams started out neck-and-neck, but the lady Blazers fell in the second half and ultimately lost 8-10.


Baseball trounces Wheaton

Blair Varsity baseball won its seventh game in a row Wednesday night, taking down the Wheaton Knights 10-0 to improve to a record of 12-3 on the season. This game comes after Tuesday night's division clinching 5-4 victory at Walt Whitman High School, the team that knocked Blair out of the playoffs last year.

With parents and fans watching in the stands, the Blair boy's lacrosse team (5-5) met the Walter Johnson Wildcats at home for the first time this season. Despite coming out strong, the game slipped away from the Blazers until it finally ended with a score of Walter Johnson 16, Blair 5.

On Monday night, Blair's varsity softball team sailed past the Magruder Colonels to secure their spot in the county playoffs. It was a more challenging game for the Blazers as they faced one of the best pitchers they've seen all season.

Richard Montgomery put up a good fight, with their pitcher being one of the toughest the Blazers have faced all season. But in the end Blair's defense helped them come out on top, beating Richard Montgomery 6-4 and securing the division title for the second year in a row.

On an overcast Saturday afternoon, the boys' lacrosse team (5-4) took on the Blake Bengals at home. The Blazers fought hard, staying with the Bengals for the entire first half. However, final score was 10-4 in favor of the Bengals.

Blair's varsity volleyball team (4-3) fell to the undefeated Wheaton Knights in a close 4 set match with scores 25-15 24-26 25-19 25-14. Despite losing the game, the Blazers kept the score very close and played their hearts out with critical plays from both Ram Sreenivasan and Jeremy Du.


Blair girls' lacrosse weathers the storm against Springbrook

On a wet Monday evening, the Blair's girls' lacrosse team (3-4) took on the Springbrook Blue Devils. Despite going down 3-0 in the first half, the Blazers continued to fight back until, minutes into the second half, flashes of lightning and rumbling thunder disrupted the match. Both teams were forced to postpone resuming the game until Wednesday, where Blair lost the hard-fought game 8-6.

The game got off to a slow start but with solid and focused offensive and defensive players, the Blazers managed to score 5 runs in the last inning, with the final score 10-0 Blair.

Blair Baseball (5-2) defeated the Clarksburg Coyotes (3-3) Tuesday in a 4-3 nailbiter, scoring the walk-off run in the eighth inning. Blair relied on solid pitching to keep them in the game and clutch hits to pull ahead after falling behind early. Blair improved to a record of 5-2 for the season with Tuesday's win.
