Blair's turf field makeover

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is replacing the playing surface of Blair's artificial turf field after concerns arose from an October 2016 inspection. Construction began in January and is expected to last until March.

Class of 2016 SAT scores increase

The Montgomery Blair High School Class of 2016 raised its SAT score by five points from 2015. However, the Class of 2016's SAT participation rate dropped both in MCPS and at Blair, and the decrease was even greater among Hispanic/Latino students.

Montgomery Blair has been selected by Montgomery County as one of ten high schools to start a program that will offer free dinner to all students. The program, which began at the start of this school year, is available to all students.

Blair wins National Science Bowl Tournament

Seniors Eric Lu and Arnold Mong, juniors Jamie Vinson and Alex Miao and sophomore Elliot Kienzle won the US Department of Energy National Science Bowl on May 2 at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center. The last time Blair won the national competition was in 1999. The team reached the top five in 2004 and in 2011, when Blair placed fourth and second place, respectively.
